Strike a Pose . . Vogue

We are very proud to be featured in this month’s Vogue Magazine (available from January the 9th) in their “Strike a Pose” feature on Boudoir Photography. We were selected for the chance to feature in the magazine because of the quality and style of our work but then we had a problem; the very difficult task of selecting the image to be featured that sums up not only the quality of our work but also the essence of what we are trying to achieve in our work.

We selected one of our favorite images of Holly because it sums up the way we see Boudoir: Yes, Boudoir is sexy and yes, it is about being just a little bit provocative. But our Boudoir service is really about creating beautiful portraits with that little bit of an edge rather than, as some boudoir seems to be, simply to showcase your outfit.

We can’t wait to see our work featured in Vogue next Monday!

Time is very tight for Valentine’s day and we will book up fast after the feature comes out but we have blocked out the whole of the week commencing the 9th of January for home and location boudoir sessions and are available throughout January and February so book now to get your images in time for Valentines Day.

Boudoir Photography Review: Ginny, Reading

” . . . I really felt at ease, I’m glad we decided to do the shoot at my house, the thought of a studio was a bit nerve-racking. . . I can’t wait to see the photos”

Holly: Classic Boudoir

Our third and final set on our shoot with Holly was a session in classic Boudoir lingerie. Corsets and basques are really popular with our clients because they look fabulous but you are actually quite covered up.

Article: Are We Hurting Ourselves?

This may seem like a strange title for a blog post but its something we discuss on a regular basis.

We made a decision right at the start of our Boudoir careers that we would never use any of our clients’ images for publicity, on the blog, in sample albums or in any other way.

Over the years a large number of clients have asked if we would be posting their images and when we said “No” they were amazed and even, occasionally, disappointed, although most would prefer that we keep them under wraps.

The truth is that our clients are proud of their images and are not shy about showing them to friends, family and even colleagues which we think is great. But we think that is their decision, not ours.

It does cause us problems with a small number of women thinking that they will never look as good as the models we use for our publicity images, but most realise that we use them to show our style and technique rather than what the models look like.

We’ll keep to our original plan, it’s more important that we stick with our vision and sense of integrity than post every single image we shoot. And our clients agree – they leave the session feeling fabulous, they love their images, and they decide who sees them.

But if we don’t post our clients’ images, we can still post what they say about us in our Review section.

Cheryl Elizabeth: Bridal Boudoir

Our session with Cheryl started with a Bridal boudoir shoot. It was only two months after Cheryl’s real wedding and she brought her real outfit for the shoot.

Holly: Little White Dress

Our shoot with Holly showed a selections of styles and outfits. After our Bridal Boudoir session, Holly changed into a nice nightdress. Another great example of how boudoir doesn’t have to be all about stockings and corsets.

Boudoir Photography Review: Susie, Swindon

“Dear Mark,

I just wanted to say thank you for my album. It arrived this morning and I just love it. I loved the shots in the online gallery but my little laptop just didn’t do then justice.

Thanks again

Susie

Boudoir Gallery: Cheryl Elizabeth

Cheryl Elizabeth met us at a Hotel near Ascot for this all-day boudoir shoot using artificial light.

We were lucky enough to be working in a ground-floor room where we could shine our studio lights through windows to give a spin on natural light as well as having the chance to work outside in a secluded garden.

Boudoir Photography Review: Mel, Caversham

“Hi Mark,

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the session earlier today. I never thought I could look so good and I feel great!

I’m really looking forward to the album and the look on Peter’s face when he sees it.”

Bridal Boudoir Gallery: Holly

We chose model Holly for a day-long Love-The-Dress and Boudoir shoot. We don’t use client images on our site so we sometimes employ models to enable us to show our clients how we work. This is the first set of images from the day based around a Bridal Boudoir theme, more will be posted soon.
